AFR readings normal?
Put in AFR gauge this past weekend......pointer stays perfectly in range 10.5 - 11.5 in 3r - 5th gear (G50)....1st in 2nd reads 14+ on full boost. I suspect it's because the readings don't have time to normalize in lower gears but wanted to see if anyone else observed this??
Motec maps show everything is normal... |

I don't know what is normal but I can give you my readings.
Warm up 10.5 then quickly to the 11's. warmed up at 900 rpm idle - 13.8 cruising around -14 to 15 boost events drops it down to low 11's.

Mine are at high tens low elevens in second, I don't have time to look in first. Third fourth and fifth full boost always stay between 10-11.5. 14 full boost is too high. Is your gauge digital? A moving needle might be reason for slow actuation I guess. Mine is 915 gearbox.

10/11... You are as rich as in CIS !! Why ? Do you have tried with an AFR of 12/12.5 ? What was the problem ? EGT too hot ? Knock ?...
My values, with 3.4, EFI, GT2 cams, big turbo and 0.9bar boost : Idle : 13.5 Cruise : 12.5/13 Boost : 12/12.3

Richard930, With the A/F ratio your running what do you see for gas miliage? The required picture. Just picked it up 3 months ago and have added Brians adj WUR and it runs much better. Thanks Brian! Don ![]() |

Nice car! I haven't done any highway trip for quite a while but figure I would probably be in the 11 l/100km range which is about 20 - 21 mpg. My normal driving, which is mostly city commuting with occasional highway and full boost runs only gets me about 12 mpg.

Frank,
It's possible that's the case, but I don't experience that with mine. Your comment at the end regarding the Motec maps, can you explain what you mean by that? Quote:

That is severely lean for boost being in the 14's. My Innovate is said to sample 1000 X's a second so there shouldn't be any lag in the readings. Of course the digital display samples less than that but it still should be nearly instant feedback and accurate.
