A/F readings under boost
Hey everyone
Just wondering what kind of numbers are you running at under full boost. My WB gauge is typically dropping into the high 9 area at 1 bar at full throttle. Almost feels like it's hesitating when under full boost and occasionally it hits overboost on cool mornings. Mods consist of k27 7200, B&B headers, kokeln I/C and a K&N cone filter. Has anyone encountered the same results? Thanks Chris |

Mid tens to near eleven for me. It feels great but some say my numbers are a tad rich.

I was thinking the same with mine(pig rich). I figure high tens to mid elevens should be right with 1 bar. Can't really think whats causing such a rich mixture. The car idles right around 14.5 most days and I do have the original o2 sensor unplugged only because the lamba unit was making it go pig rich at idle. Would it possibly be too high control pressure or should I be leaning more towards a WUR
issue? Gees I guess it could be a number of things. |

That's not unusual for a stock 20+ year old WUR. They were factory set on the rich side and get worse with age. My target is mid 11's at peak torque. Another important number is the AFR at redline under full boost. That number should be ~12.0 optimally.
A few things you can do; add an RPM switch or like device to delay the enrichment, rebuild the WUR and set back to spec, make the WUR adjustable and set to your spec, or all three.

Yeah I have to get my WUR adjustable also. Just a matter of when.

Chris, do you have a K&N part number for the small can/filter your breathers are attached to? I have been looking for something like that.
To stay on topic, I have an adjustable, but not rebuilt, wur and similar mods. I see mid-tens at .8 bar and high-elevens at redline.
