Reverse Light Switch

My reverse light switch started leaking on my '87 930 (I believe from within where the electrical connectors plug into). Does anyone know that part number for the switch the fits '77 through '88 930? I did not see it listed here on pelicanparts.

Also, it looks like the transmission needs to be dropped to RR the switch. Is this the case? Or can it be access after lowering the transmission (not sure how far it can be lowered with shift rod through the tunnel)? Or how about holding the transmission with a jack and remove the transmission support?

Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks.

It's in the pelican parts section, I just did this recently, an east diy from the bottom with a simple floor jack. 30min max.
Look under backup light switch 39$

A floor jack to support and remove the tranny cross member to get at it.

Do you need to drain the tranny fluid or not to do this?

I actually just jacked the car up and crawled underneath. I used a box wrench, 123 done. The biggest pia I had was one of the wires had been jury rigged by the PO, I had to solder the end.

Thanks for the comments but I can only find one switch (p/n 914-613-541-02-M253) which is listed for 1965-1969 911/912. Is this the one you ordered?

They used to be around $90 when they were made in europe and I see that one is a URO. Pelican Parts - Product Information: 914-613-541-02-M253
I think they're made in china.
It might work a long time who knows. I wonder what the dealers are selling now.
