twin scroll project

Slowly working away at my twin scroll project. Almost finished with the fab work, and all thats left now is the welding. As seen in the pic where the elephant nose was attached to the headers, there wasn't much of a passage for the exhaust to exit, compared to the new openings for the 38mm tial waste-gates. Phil

Nice project!!!

I worked with an 82r for a while too but just not enough blow for 500+ HP at 1bar with my setup and that one is pretty much done by 1.2 or so. Now I'm going a littler bigger on the turbo, but I hope you have a better experience then i did and good luck!

Looks good. I'm also doing a twin scroll twin gate set up using rarlyl8 headers. I'm going from a .8 hot hsg to a big T4 1.03 twin scroll on my gt35. It's genuine garrett and is massive. Extensive tin, mount and exhaust mods are needed. I'll post up some picks.

I'd like to see the pics, and also know the comparision performance wise. My Gt35R is also at its limits. Philip

I'll start up another thread as I'm doing some other cool stuff like installing DTA S80 ECU and making my own straight through 3" dual out exhaust. My goal with going twin scroll was to get the spool up of a .82 hot side but the top end of a big 1.03 housing. I'm going from a gt3582r using a T3 flange on GSF headers to rarlyl8 equal length headers with a new T4 flanged 1.03 twin scroll housing on the turbo. Those awesome rarlyl8 headers should make a big difference on their own to spool up let alone the twin scroll set up. I just had enough of boost spikes and creep with the GSF headers and initially was just going to use a twin gate set up on the headers but decided I might as well go twin scroll if I was going with dual gates. Can't wait to see what the results are.

Please do post your project, It would be nice to see how you upgrade your GT35. I also considered the T4 flange, but with the list of thing's on the go right now, I'll be lucky to have the car all back together for spring. Philip
