how to empty oil circuit really fast

Happened about a half mile from my home, oil everywhere. What would cause this? Added a front oil cooler an-12 this winter. It's a factory line from engine cooler to the thermostat, anyone have a part number handy...
Tom

Looks like a very poor pipe to hose crimps connection. The pipe should have a barbed end to give the hose something to "bite" onto when crimped. The hose could be dried out the inner surface probably hardened causing very little friction between the to. As for part number..sorry wouldn't have a clue but you possibly go to a local hydraulic hose store and have the hoses replaced or even recrimped. I've got the same issue with my 930s

Our host carries all of those lines, something in the $90 range per hose, if my memory serves me correct.
The new line goes all the way from the hard line across the rear of the engine, to the thermostat for one of them. And from the engine oil cooler, up to the other connection on the thermostat for the second hose...or something alone those lines.

You're a lucky man... it happened so close to home.

Look at our host oil flow diagrams, it's there.

What's the "red cannister looking thing with a couple of fittings in series" at the bottom/left of the picture?

Miguel,
That is a -6 hi flow filter for the oil returning from the turbo. Installed it after coking clogged my cam spray bars, was shocking what it was able to remove from the system.

Prrrrreeeeettttycool.

How long have you been using it?

Does it have a cartbrige (filter) inside that you can change/inspect every so often...?

Getting back to your oil hose problem, is this an original factory line to the thermostat or someone's replacement?

As boosted 89 says, all hardline to hose connections should have barbs to retain the hose.......

I wonder how this one got through quality control.

Is it possible using a AN-12 hose to the cooler restricted flow enough to raise pressure to the blow off point?

Len

Sly,
When you get a chance, would you mind taking a better pic of the filter so we can see how it's plumbed into the return line? I'll also then be able to tell which model it is. Did you use 75 micron pores?
Thanks.

Several folks have installed a filter on the return from the turbo (something I would and should do some day as well). Do a search to get some ideas. Somewhere someone at one time did a good job of describing parts and sources, etc. Spend enough search time and you'll get lots of detail.
Here's a starting point:
for those of you contemplating turbo sump return line filtration

Gents,
plumbed in this filter:

200-201706
Pro-Street Inline Oil Filter #6 AN Ends 75 micron

Had to do a little playing around, pretty sure I used AN-6 to 3/8 barbed adapters
