Porsche Crest Oil

What kind of oil do you use in your 930? For me, I use 20W-50 Valvoline VR-1 Racing Oil in my 930. I'm not really looking for oil recommendations, I just want to see what you guys use.

I use the same stuff as you. I still have a bunch of it I bought when it was on sale for half price at autozone some years ago. Seems like really good oil.

I use it in my old PT cruiser daily driver unit too because the cheapest 10w 40 generic no name oil you can buy these days cost way more than what I paid for the 20w 50 VR-1 when it was on sale.
The PT has a lot of mileage on it, it's hot in S. Florida, and it runs fine with the 20w 50 in it.

Have also used this in the past. Switched to the Valvoline, because of that big sale a few years ago; hard to argue with $2/qt.

Have this on the shelf for the next oil change. The Mobil 1 is synthetic, and fortuitously it was on sale.

I've also used Rotella in the past, but its formulation has changed.

Luv vr1-20w50..But the long winter months was brutal for startups if i had the car outside over night. Switched to mobil delvac 15w40 -1300-./great startups-faster revs-and little to no smoke on startups.

Brad Penn is what I use in all of my 911s except for the chump car, it gets Rotella T and is changed every race.

The guys who run Mobil 1 should look into the ZDDP levels - they cut this out a few years ago because it was not compatible with catalytic converters. You need the lubrication from the ZDDP for your valve train on the older engines hence the Brad Penn or other oils with ZDDP.

Run what you want - its your car.

I use 20W50 Valvoline VR-1, just bought 2 cases at Advance Auto $2.00 off, so $4.00 a quart, $48 a case....use Malhe filters from our host.

I can also get Brad Penn for $55 case from my distributor...

Mrs Buttermilk maple syrup. Every start smells like breakfast at the Bomber restaurant!

Actually, Mobil 1 15W50 full synthetic, for many many years.

Mobil 1 V-Twin motorcycle 20w-50. I buy on sale, but still $8 or $9 per quart. I was cleaning the garage and found a box full of it. I think I have over 30 quarts of it.

After years of faithful Brad Penn use, the final oil change on my 930 saw V-Twin. Not that it matters now, but in my 993 (non turbo) I'm planning to use 1/2 Mobile1 15w-50 and 1/2 V-Twin 20w-50. Previous owner used 15w-50 exclusively. I just like the idea of adding something with a little extra ZDDP (the V-Twin in this case).
