Of course the Turbo 3.6 is the ne plus ultra of single turbo factory offerings...undoubtedly uber and worthy of the highest respect.

You haven't hardly driven you car yet...get it home and start enjoying it, then come back and tell us which Porsche is the best you've owned.

Hopefully that means you will have more time to post and share more of your turbocharging and K-jet expertise - really enjoy your posts on those topics and have learned a lot from you over the years!

I'm working on a boring not picture worthy tear down of one of my front hubs. I heard a loud pop and terrible grinding last time I drove her. Ended up taking a flat bed home. Still not sure what happened. Can wheel bearings suddenly explode?

lol..that is true..well recent mod is my door tops and rear interior side tops were done in black Alcantara..to match my dash..also just got my front Ruf bumper/spoiler back from paint...now I'm off to hunt down the rear Ruf bumper(actually Mike at Ruf Auto US is working that out for me..:D)
My front bumper is exactly like in the pic but in red of course...
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1399607657.jpg
that will be added maybe by the end of the summer..or winter project as I want to add some protection using 964 bumper guts..

I want to do this to mine at some point as I really like the pictures of 911s that I have seen with the alcantara dash tops etc - bet yours looks great!

Im doing usual stuff also been doing same area over and over and over , getting colors right , wiring sorted repetitive, Decided to not just fine tune any potential problem areas instead im doing the whole car ground up etc...teaching yourself is one hell of a journey, but i have plenty of time, ive put in around 50 hours a week for over 12 months on this car, , devil is in the detail i guess, i want my 930 to be a mix of 930's from other later years adding performance, safety better looks ie; sunken foglights, low headlight washer sprayers, etc etc mine being a Euro 77 is quite raw, im still looking for a Turret as i removed the cab roof a PO installed, ill be putting a proper coupe roof on the car asap.

Put on All Factory from later years

Engine is Matching Numbers with Chassis #644 of 692 built (50 cars for Japanese Market)

So this is the (Last Euro ROW 1977 930 Built ), last built for Aus market anyway id say think before the addition of weight of the later models

Porsche 3.3 intake
Porsche 3.3 bov assembly
Porsche 3.3 Intercooler
Porsche 3.3 Big Brakes

I removed Aircon and all associated bits,
Weight saved compensated the addition of bits from later years she is well underweight atm
But this car needs to be restored fully , it has done 250000kays (190000 miles?) has zero rust anywhere, undercarriage is straight no big dings
Parts are just breaking off falling off..
Many nuts , bolts are breaking apart when torquing because shes narly 40 years old, its frustrating
Changes made are easy to undo if i ever need to but i doubt id ever sell it they arent worth much in Australia anymore :(

The title of this thread is not very enticing, but with over 48,000 views you've got to know something's happening there. This Pelican in Switzerland is a bona-fide lunatic...but in a good way:D. Over 20 pages of pictures, technical discussions and DIY heroism:

I am expecting a TurboKraft half-bay intercooler any day. With a trans rebuild, AC overhaul, new Forgelines and last year's Rebel Racing suspension overhaul, my aftermarket $$-to-miles-driven ratio is artificially high. Looking forward to just driving the crap out of the car this year.

Hams930T/Chris- you are going to town on that car. Keep us posted for sure.

Yep - if they dry out, get damaged in some other way, or perhaps had a defect from the start, the roller cage can crack/break, and an "explosion" of the assembly will soon follow. Of course, Paul is very familiar with the terms "explosion and soon", but more so in the context of bedroom activities (don't know this from personal experience, but have heard "stories")! :D

Here is a nicely modified 930. I think it encompasses all the quality's of the typical modified cars that are inspired by the 934/935. A homemade 934. That is the grand vision right?

looks "100% original" to me Tony

(now you're just embarrassing yerself - keep up the good werk tho!)

Love the wheels, Ken - looking forward to meeting you in July! And your comment regarding Chris' undertaking down there in TexASS is the understatement of the year! Freakin insanity he's embarking upon... too cool.

jwasbury 05-09-2014 10:52 AM

That's 'original' all right.

Where did I imply that car was anything close to original.. Only trying point something out that obviously went way over your head:D

Only in Tony's world - "modified" means something entirely different to the rest of us! The disparity here is reminiscent of your concept of "original", as well! :D

tonypeoni 05-09-2014 11:11 AM

What Im trying to say is this..

After 1000s of $$$ and 1000s of bolt-ons krasuskyp may see this when he looks at his prized car

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1399662571.jpg

However as always in these cases the reality is something closer to this.

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1399662609.jpg

That's all Ill say on this topic. Hope my point was made. Goodbye
