'86 930: Disconnected Solenoid: How to Connect?

I'm changing plugs, wires, and disty cap and rotor and noticed 2 solenoids under the intercooler and one is disconnected. Does anyone have a diagram of where this goes or what it does (did)?

The one hose with the arrow connects to another hose just below the solenoid. Maybe this solenoid connected there?

This diagram is in the back of your owners manual.

Thanks, I found the diagram in the owner's manual.

While removing items on the passenger side of the engine to get to the plugs, I removed this valve.

I tested the valve by applying vacuum to the input port but nothing moved internally. It seems this unit is stuck. What is this and how can I get it to function?

All that stuff is emissions crap and you don't need it.. car runs better without it.
The big thing is one of the two air pump diverter valves that diverted air pump air to the catalytic converter or the air injection nozzles in the exhaust ports depending on cold start or regular running and the small things are vacuum changeover solenoid valves for switching the air pump diverter valves and blocking vacuum retard to the distributer on cold start so the motor would actually run with all this junk during a cold start.
It's an old emissions work around mess bosch came up with for CIS injection so they could sell these cars here again in 1986 and if you don't need it to pass emission testing now get rid of it and sell it to someone that does or something.

Agree with what Jim has posted, yes i deleted all my emissions jumble after researching it's missfunction. Some will say reinstall it since keeping it stock increases value, some say remove it all and burn it, middle road would be to take it off, put in box, put box in basement and re-configure your vac lines.

This what you end up with when the emission controls are deleted. Ignore the RPM valve, LMA-3 and boost gauge ... they were extras on my 930.

The red wiring and parts in this diagram are what can be deleted. Email me if you want a clear copy.

Thanks for the info on the emissions stuff. The valve on the passenger side doesn't work. Haven't removed the one on the driver side yet.

Question: What do I have to remove on the driver side to change the plugs and wires? Do I have to remove the throttle body/pop off valve?

Further question: while I have all this stuff off, should I adjust the valves? I've owned the car for 5 years and put about 20k miles on the engine.

So I'm removing the smog pump and valves. Got the pump out and now I'm confused on how this thing was powered. It appears to be flat belt driven but I don't see any motors or belt behind the engine. How did this thing work?

I noticed this 3 pin connector and plug which was not connected together. The one side comes from the cabin wire bundle and the other side goes into the driver side wheel well behind the wheel. I can't move the car so can't follow the wire behind the wheel. What is this for?

Smog pump was belt driven by shaft before your scavenge pump, you will see an opening don't drop anything in there. That three pin was going to your 02 sensor on your exhaust manifold. Looks like your emission system wasn't working. You can either get it back working or delete. I still have my 02 working but not smog pump.
You will have to do some 02 searches here.

OK, I found out where the pump was driven from. It looks like there's a gear on the rear of the camshaft to drive the pump. The belt is long gone and the pump itself is seized.
