Can The Power Window Motor Be Removed Without The Regulaor?

Looks like I have a dead power window motor. Can the motor be pulled without taking the window regulator out? Thanks

I don't think so, its attached to the regulator. Its not too difficult to remove the regulator though.

Yes, they can be removed with the regulator... its a pain, but not as much as removing the regulator.

Just be patient and play with it a bit, and you will find the sweet spot... ok, sounds sexual but unfortunately its not.

Agreed I did it too but not worth hassle. Take out the door frame, then it's much easier to access the motor/regulator. Personally I hated this project, pain in the a$$ to work in the door. good luck

Most definitely YES. I took mine out recently.
Once you have the door trim removed, all you need to do is remove the two screws that hold it in place. One is easy to see, the other not so easy, but you can feel it. Remove the two screws with a small Torx bit on a long 1/4" drive extension and just pull the motor downwards.
You may need to jiggle the window itself up and down a bit to take the load off the gear. Do the same when you put it back in.
I found the easiest way to see what I was doing was to lie on a creeper next to the car. My old knees and hips can't handle the squatting and kneeling any more.

The two screws in the pic below are the ones that hold the motor in place.

I think I got very lucky. I removed the door panel and gave the motor two light taps and the window started working. I tried it over 15 times and it works fine everytime.

I greased the track and will check to make sure it works tomorrow if so I'll put it back together and hope for the best.

Lubricating the felt window guides/seals in the window frame with a puff can of silicone lube helps too.

It still worked this morning so I put it all back together and will hope for the best
