Engine matching?

Hello, just bought a project car and would like to know if the engine is the original engine, can't seem to find any data. The chassis is 9306700405, the engine is 6760555.
any ideas?

the engine and chassis is a 76 and has been rebuilt. Based on the Stars next to it

your numbers match based on the following site..Now is it the original to the chassis..Good guess but at least the numbers are within the range.

Really? Is that true? Never heard that before. I always been told the "Stars" are basically bookends by the Porsche Factory to protect the Serial Numbers from tampering.

If that's true every 911 engine on the planet has been rebuilt. Stars are on every engine I've seen and don't mean rebuilt. Not good info.
