I have recently completed a clutch kit replacement at home on my 911 3.2 1984. It all looks good until I tested at high RPM ( more than 5000 rpm's) I find that it is missing only when it gets to 5000rpm's and higher. I checked the spark plugs for correct gap, I took the valve covers off and checked the engine studs to see if any were loose or fractured, I checked fuel presure because I replaced the filter, I checked the compresion and it's OK. Do you have an advice on what may be causing the missing at high rpm's?

Bad plug wires can have that effect. Have you checked them in the dark for the telltale light show?

Hi,
I had the same symptoms with my 77S. My coil went out shortly afterwards. Replaced it and the problem went away. Do you have another coil to try?? Al |
