VICTOR REINZ Porsche 911 Engine Gasket Set?
Hoping to get some guidance.
VICTOR REINZ Porsche 911 Engine Gasket Set I have purchased it already. It has not been getting good reviews. What parts of the kit can I reliably use? What to replace? I see that teh Wrightwood kit has better reviews. Thanks for any assistance. |

The biggest problem I have read here is the oil pump squared O-rings. Some kits had them too short, so there wasn't a good enough seal between the cases and oil pump causing no oil pressure.

That would be an issue. I really dont want to spend the money on another gasket kit. I may have to.

I use the Wrightwood Racing on the low end, Victor-Reinz on the top end.

What was the justification to use the VR on the top end?

I checked all the fitments and they were spot on. All the gasket dimensions fit the flange dimensions, so I felt comfortable using them.
Others may disagree.

CE rings in the Victor Reinz kit are suspect.
Sizing is all over the place so fit is hit or miss. The last ones I ordered (just trying to keep moving forward on a project) were so bad I sent them back and put the project on hold until I got some from Wrightwood. I've seen oil return tube o-rings after install before the engine was ever started. Gasket thickness is also inconsistent.

Thanks Henry. Well - I will try to return them, but most likely past the return date.
Thanks for all the replies. |

It's so frustrating to me that there are so many questionable parts being sold for these cars.

I am lucky that I will be able to return mine. That said, they may be very good as I have not opened the package.
However, I am going to go with what the professional builders are recommending. I will be buying the Wrightwood Racing sets. |
