mounting cam gear question
After installing the cam sprocket over 3 shims and the main washer there is only about 1/16" showing on the cam for the chain gear to mount. Is this normal?? Seems a little odd to me.

The chain sprocket will not slide completely onto the cam shaft but it should slide on more than 1/16". Make sure the inner gear is pressed on all the way.

Which sprocket are you talking about? The big one, or the smaller one?

that would be because the cam is not up against the thrust plate. pry it toward the plate with a screwdriver behind whatever lobe you can get a bite on. they move easily.
