Red face 2.7 CIS rebuild

So I had to strip down my engine and it is not looking good.
Attached some pictures of what was found so far.
Funny (or tragic) thing is that the car went through a top end job 4 years ago.

Has anyone here done the upgrades mentioned on the Wayne Dempsey article?

I'm referring to this article

Thanks for your comments and contributions

Have you been inside the crank case yet?

I too, was thinking about the 964 cams and the piston upgrade. I wonder if you can do the cams first and then the pistons at a later date?

I already have SSI heat exchangers on it.

Interested to see what you find.

Hi yes, we open the crank case and thank god is all good there. Basically this was a poorly done valve job that turned ugly. Rocker arms not properly adjusted so most likely they eat up the cams.
Spoke to a very reputable 911 engine builder and he mentioned that the Wayne Dempsey article refers to a 3.0 engine and not a 2.7, different beasts. Suggested me to stick with the original cams but time them as the 74 Carrera (the 75s were timed different due to emission controls).

That's good news that inside is OK.

Garage
Check the cam spray bars - you probably already have.
