The seal Porsche produces for the 3.8 case is not round in profile, and they are available from Porsche. 999 705 023 41 is the part. Apologies if I miss understood the pic.

The pics are oe 3.6 w/ Wrightwood seals, it's back together and dry, knock on wood

my 3.8 has the RS O-ring channel in the case

Perfect, so you did use 999 705 023 41. Your 3.6 case was machined for the o-ring groove when the spigot bore size was increased, to match an original 3.8RS case, correct?

I never have used 1211, what about Curil-T2 on the base gaskets? Your thoughts?

Curil T is our go to when a copper gasket is present. The use of 1211 seems to be a better choice if an o-ring is failing to seal.
