Flushing or blowing out cooler lines after rebuild

Hi Guys,
I did a short search on this topic but really didn’t find anything. I’ve finished rebuilding my engine and I am in the process of installing it in the car. The engine was rebuilt due to bad valve guides, everything else was fine. No failures. It has been about a year since the engine was pulled and I did wrap up the oil lines to the thermostat with a plastic bag on the end of them so I am wondering if I should flush or blow out those lines and the lines from the thermostat to the front cooler Knowing how incredibly hard it is to break the nuts loose on these. Is it safe to leave them be knowing I will change the oil a few times in a short period?

Don't worry about it. The oil return goes through the filter, then into the tank. It's the supply side you have to be anal about.

Always wanted to do this myself.

I believe you simply heat the thermostat on the passenger side rear tire area (at least on a Carrera 3.2) to get the T-stat open, then flush from there.
