Where to use JB Weld?
I have a '87 3.2.
Other than the back of my chain boxes, Where do I need to apply JB Weld? Wayne's book mentions some areas, but it seems there are many other various plugs that look like they should be covered with JB Weld. Also... is there a certain type of JB Weld I should be using? Thanks all. one step closer to rebuilding my engine.

So I went to pick up some 'original' JB Weld and was confused as there are apparently different versions of the 'original' JB Weld.
One product has a tensile strength of 3920 psi and another has a tensile strength of 5020 psi. Which one is recommended on our engines???

Here is what I call original JB Weld. Looks like the 5020 psi stuff.

All the ends of the oil galleys. Also the chain cases, on the back side, were the pins are pressed through the case. The factory did that as a preventative measure.

The "orignial" is the best. But, we need to realize that it is a back up of sorts. We see many engines in car, and for rebuild (that have been previously apart) and see none of the areas sealed, and no leaks. The exception to this being the chain ramp pins in the timing boxes.
Cheers

All pretty good information. We prefer the Loctite Hysol Epoxi-patch to JB Weld but either will work just fine.
![]() We gluing the main galley plug near the fan ring, be sure that the glue doesn't encroach on the fan ring seating surface. ![]()
