Engine tin?

Okay so my car is only driven on the track. A few years ago I had a company help straighten everything out for the track. When it came back it had no engine tin on it. Guy said it didn’t need it because it’s a track car only, so what do you guys think should I find new tin or fiberglass and put it back in?

gee... I would have wanted it fitted, or at the least, wanted it given back to me.

The engine tin is the only thing that separates cool air coming into the intake and cooling fan, or recycling hot air from cooling the engine back into the intake and engine cooling. I would insist on getting my tin back.

Engine perimeter tin is necessary to promote proper cylinder and head cooling cooling. This tin also reduces the ingestion of hot into the air intake.
Choice of material is personal preference.

I remember years ago there was a race shop (name escapes me) that build all their race cars with no tin..... It was their thing. Never made sense to me.

Cheers

If you're always between 50MPH and 150MPH, I expect you're getting enough fresh airflow back there.

I'd want to use the tin anyway.
