Engine rebuild
I’m at the point where I need to rebuild my 3.0 original engine. I’m considering the options. Since I’m looking at sinking so much $$ into a rebuild I’m considering all options. Who has experience buying 3.2 engines? Is there a resource for finding one or am I just going to be hunting and cruising eBay? Thanks in advance for advice on whether to swap or not, and if so, how, and what becomes of the original engine? Should I keep it or sell it to offset cost of a 3.2. I’m inclined to keep it original personally.

Zacha,
Welcome to the board. Post some pics of your project to show you are legit (we get a lot of scammers on here). Give us some more details of what you are working with like Year, give us the engine number (should be on the case on the right side of the fan up top). Are you thinking about a DIY build or looking for a builder? This board can help steer you either way. Where are you located? Bill

Start with ….. Building original engine will maintain cars value…..Its up to you whether or not that is a consideration, but once gone you don’t get a do over!

In addition to the others' comments: Why do you think it needs a rebuild? Serious question. The 3.0 engines are very durable and can log 300,000+ miles. It's common to do a valve and guide refresh in the mid-100Kmi range, but not a full rebuild (even though people think they need to).
As for your budget for a full rebuild, $$ ain't enough, you need $$$$. Ditto for a 3.2 swap. If swapping to a Carrera 3.2, do you plan to keep the original CIS fuel injection or swap over the complete 3.2 Motronic file injection? And post pics.

Rebuilding your 3.0 engine vs. swapping for a 3.2 depends on your goals. If keeping originality matters, rebuild the 3.0. For a 3.2 engine, look at specialized Porsche parts dealers, forums, or classifieds for options. Keep the original for value or resale, or sell it to offset costs. I was struggling with a complex research topic and decided to use https://academized.com/write-my-research-paper to help me out. The writer assigned to me was an expert in the subject and delivered a high-quality paper. It was well-researched, plagiarism-free, and met all my professor’s expectations. The customer support team was also very responsive. I couldn’t be happier with their service!

If you want a 3.2 just replace the P+Cs and have a nice SS 3.2

If you are serious about a replacement engine, contact "Mepstein" here on Pelican. He is a solid seller and stands behind his sales. Sells a lot of engines; here is one currently for sale:
https://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911-used-parts-sale-wanted/1170072-rebuilt-3-2-carrera-engine-sale.html (Same as posted above) I would buy an engine from him without worry. I have bought other parts from him and he is the best. Cheers, Michael ![]()
