2.2 to 2.7 ancillaries compatibility

I'm thinking of buying a short block 2.7 which I believe is a 1976, my present engine is a 1970 2.2 T.
I wanted to know if the engine shroud, fan assembly and tin ect. from the 2.2 are going to fit the 2.7

Yes. Although there are slight differences (cooler air transfer, extra holes and differing wiring) for the most part, most external engine parts like perimeter tin, exhaust and cooler are interchangeable. The 76 engine cooler will not fit a 70 chassis/oil tank.
Even the clutch and flywheel will fit. The distributor will not.

Thanks Henry , I have a 123 distributor which they list as being good for up to 77 year will I still be able to use it ?

The distributor for a 2.2 case has a shaft diameter of 27mm and mounts with a steel clamp.
The 2.7 distributor has a 30mm shaft and mounts with a flange cast into the distributor body.
There is no distributor that would fit both without an adapter sleeve. 27mm ID and a 30mm OD.

I see there is aluminum and stainless tubing available in the right size maybe that's a possibility .

It has to be a precise fit to prevent the distributor from wobbling in the bore. Remember that there is a groove on the distributor housing for the O-ring that seals the distributor to the bore. I'm pretty sure that would prevent using an adaptor.

Further research showed me the 2.7 uses a longer shaft so it looks like i wont be using the one that I have.
