2.0 Heads On A 2.2?
Will 2.0 heads fit ? If so, what needs to be done to make them fit ? I know these aren't the best heads to use...Thanks

I actually wanted to go the other way using 2.2 heads on a 2.0. I was told by Wayne that it had been done before, but it required an adapter of some sort. I decided to look into sleeving 2.2 cyulinders to the 80mm bore in order to keep my engine legal for the class. I believe you could machine the heads to the 2.2 configuration but it would be pricey.
Good luck, neil |

2.0 to 2.2 and back again
It is a simple modification to convert 2.0 heads to fit 2.2. The cost is $225 and takes one day turn around.
The adapter to put 2.2 heads on a 2.0 cylinder was invented by SUPERTEC and they are available for $250. These adapters are available and race proven. Because this modification is not legal for some vintage racing groups, I won't tell you who, but believe me, if you're racing vintage on the west cost, you are running against this conversion. Resleving cylinders leave you with very thick cylinders ( poor cooling) and a $600 bill. Below are two ( 2.0) heads converted for 2.2. Note one is twin plugged. Also below are the conversion shims to put 2.2 heads on 2.0 cylinders. ![]() ![]() ![]()
