To make a long story short. From what I understand, they were doing alot of R&D and were using some type of Buick rod that Carrillo made and put it in the 911 race motors. I do not know the specifics, but alot of the motors were throwing rods. At the time we just knew that Carrillo rods were busting sunroofs in the cases. There is still alot unknowns with what was really happening. Maybe just one of those "Racer Secrets".
Regardless, with my Dad's experience with Carrillo's (broke a rod) and from what I have seen (Carrillo's fault or not) I would not buy a set. I would opt for something else. Just my .02 cents

No worries with the 2.0L rods. They will be fine. The guys at Aase said they will work great with ARP rod bolts. I do not know if ARP makes rod bolts for the 2.2 rods now (they did not in the past) I even had a set of 2.2L rods and they said go with the 2.0L. They are a little lighter than the 2.2L and some people have had more problems with the 2.2L's than the 2.0L's. You refurb these race motors so often, you will see a problem before it develops (hopefully, knock on wood
