The super cup cams are a good upgrade. Also upgrade the valve springs.

If club racing is on the agenda then you will need to stay w/ stock cams to remain in a stock class

I am looking at a car advertised with super cup cams in a 964 motor. From what I've read so far they seem to be a nice improvement. Are their any adverse effects? Any experience with emissions? Will highway gas mileage go the way of the do-do? Are new valve springs required? It seems they are at least a recommendation.

Anything I'm missing?

Either true supercup or 993SS cams are a very nice addition to a 964 or 993 engine, emissions are somewhat affected but probably still ok(it does depend on the stringincy of the test), driveability is fine, w/ a nice cammy feel to the engine but still very streetable, headers help more than on stockers. Hopefully rod bolts were also upgraded to take full advantage of the rev potential

Thanks Bill. This sounds like an interesting option. I'm a little concerned with mileage and emissions, but from what I've read it should be ok.
