Interesting 3.6 finding...

To my surprise when I split the case of my early 964 motor today I discovered a set of 930 connecting rods bolted to the crank!! I know they are dimensionally the same as 964 rods but seems strange. Has this motor been apart before or was the factory using up some older parts that were around?? Just curious if anyone else has seen this before.

Jeff

I looked at some 964 rods from a '91 just now and they have a 930 part # on them.

Jeff,
Out of curiosity, what year is your motor?

Most(12 of 13) of the 964s that I have seen come apart have 930 casting #s on the rods.

only 1, a 964 Cup, had 964 casting #S
