Rockershaft retainers

Anyone who knows where these come from and if it is possible to get new ones?

new one on me. why would they be needed? it's not like the shafts come out that regularly. if they do, either the torque was too little or the bore in the cam tower is worn. then what about the other side?

Could the motor in question be from a 996 by any chance?

This system was used in the late 80's and early 90's for 935 and 962 Rocker Shafts due to running at slightly higher RPMs. I do not think they are currently produced, but would not be very difficult to fabricate since it is merely a cap that fits on the non threaded end.

Best regards

Ok, I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm confused.
The title of this thread is 996, but the cylinder head in this photo is obviously an air-cooled version. The photo shows cam tower retaining nut that has what appears to be a retaining clip near the rocker arm cap? What type of engine is this photo relating to? I take it that this type of retention system is used because of the increased valve spring pressure may cause the rocker arm to walk over time?
TIA

It almost looks as if the rocker shaft is notched to accept that "spring" or "arm" that comes off it... weird stuff...

The engine is a 3,0 RS and it has been modified to almost full RSR spec. I have not seen that solution to hold the rockershafts before and I thought that this would be the right place to ask the question. I´m doing a rebuild on the engine and one of the retainers was broken and I just wanted to hear if it was possible to buy the part from some where. It is the part with the pin that holds the cap that I´m interested in.
