Flywheel Sensor Testing???

Is it possible to test the Flywheel Sensor Pickups on the 3.2 engines with them off the car with a multi meter or by another method? I am in the process of rebulding a 3.2 for transplant into my 72 and I have droped one of these sensors, It didnt drop from a greate hight but it has put a small dint in the tip of the casing, so I would profer to test it before I put the engine in the car to save me a wilde gouse chase later on if I carnt get the engine to run as this engine has never been in this car so there may be a host of other teething problems.

The crankshaft reference and speed sensor wiring is routed around the left side of the engine w/ connectors above the left fuel rail. They are electrically identical.

bottom most pin is 1, middle pin is 2 and top is 3

measure at ~25&degC
terminals 1 to 2 should measure 960 &#177 96 W

terminals 1 to 3 should measure > 105 W

terminals 2 to 3 should measure > 105 W

Bill's test will tell you if the sensor is bad - but not if it is good.
I suspect your sensor is just fine. People have been known wack the reference pin with them without killing them.
