				Multiple cylinder base gaskets ???

Here's the background - I'm not sure how thick I need for the base gaskets as I'm using a different set of cylinders that happened to have been shaved. If I ended up needing say .75mm, would it be ok to use a .5mm + a .25mm or should I go out of the way (e.g. not getting it from our host) to find a .75mm (or worst yet 1mm) gasket? thanks...

You can stack, I have stacked two a couple of times with no leaks at all. I think Henry has them in the different thicknesses though. Cheers

Thanks for the confirmation Jeff - that's what I thought as well. Now, I need to pre-assemble & measure the clearance. Once the gaskets are squished once, are they re-usable? My thinking is: if I start with, say, 2 .25mm ones, and end up needing 3. Can the 2 be re-used? thanks.

I would just go with the correct height single gasket after you figure out what that height should be. good luck You might also check with Jerry Woods. They made a single for each side for me.

Thanks for the input guys... I'm doing some pre-calculation prior to assembly, so hopefully the clearance will be ok that I don't have to dismantle the p&c. I have also been told from a few experience builders that stacking 2 is ok, so will probably leave it at that if I only need 2. But will likely get a thicker 1 if I end up needing 3.

I asked a similar question a while ago and got some good info in response. Here is the thread: Cylinder base shim, how thick is too thick Good luck, JP
