miss shift at the Glen?
Hello folks need your help, i missed shift at the Glen this wekend
any ideas? rebuild the top end or someone could sell a 3.0L top end for sale? regards Alex had lot's of fun with the folks at the Glen aside the trouble with the car:-(

Pull the motor and get a look at the valves and pistons crowns. That's where to start.

Yes, it is. By top end to you mean towers, heads and P/Cs? Or just heads?

HI was it a over RPM or engine failed, either way at least change the rod bolts, good luck

Even if there was no piston the valve contact, an overrev is always a good reason to replace rod bolts (ARP can be reused) and rebuild the rods. Obviously replace the rod bearings. Many years ago I allowed a customer to talk himself out of doing the rods after an overrev and after the engine was reassembled top end only he got 87 miles before a catastrophic failure. Another customer with a two liter vintage racer overrevved his engine on Saturday pulled the valve cover that night, did a leak down and adjusted the valves. Good leak down and him racer buddies told him he could run it (against my advice) and on Sunday by midday he had a "magic window" in his case.
