Mufflers Sound

Any of you use a Magnaflow muffler on your 911, or Other? I have a 2.4l w/ Webers and considering installing a new muffler system w/ 2 outlets. Of course on my 71 car I will have to cut out a passenger side hole, but not a problem. Im hoping for something deep and rich sounding, not raspy or poppy.
Ever heard of this one or used it?

I have a magnaflow 2 in 2 out. Definitely a low rumble at idle, and with my sc it stays reasonable until 3500 rpm, then it goes stellar nasty loud.

I wonder how it would do w/ my 2.4. I wouldnt like it to be too loud on the highway around 3700 to 4200... Or does it mellow out once at a constant speed?

Actually mine only has a little buzz between 2600 -3000 rpms. Change a gear up or down and it goes away.

Steve. I noticed the picture on the website showing Inlets on all four sides. Where are the Outlets.. or does this mean that Any of them can be used as either in or out.
Whats the difference (sound wise) between the 11378 and 14386 like JeremyD has on his car other than the size inlets(2.25 to 2.5)
My car only has the 2.4, which would be the better sound?
Thanks

The muffler can be flipped either way. Each side and be either an outlet side or inlet side. There probably won't be much of a sound difference. Part number 14386 is a few inches longer so it might be a little quieter. I'm sure they will both sound great on your ride.

Can it be set where One side has both the inlet and outlet, and the other side the same?

Steve at Rennsport also recommends and sells these. Supposedly they work great with headers or exchangers.

I dont think you can do that. Magnaflow makes Camaro/Firebird mufflers that use a similar design. The part numbers are 12266, 12265, 12267, 14266, 14267, 14277. Those are designed to have both and inlet and outlet on the same side of the muffler.

Jeremy D.. How are your Inlet and Outlets set on your muffler... Is there One Inlet and Outlet per side.. It looks like I can see both Outlets on the bottom.. and assume the 2 inlets are on the top.

Rev2Red .. whats the difference b/n 11378 and 14386 as far as inlets/outlets and sound... my car is only a 2.4.. not the beefy 3.2 or anything.
