964 to RSR-alike
Hello Chums.
I'd apprecaite comments and advice, about what parts are out there to help me make a 964 motor look and run like an RSR. I'm thinking twin-plug from Henry and Burn-Bros, cams from John Dougherty, MFI from Henry..what core pump? slide or high-butterfly from ? This is the first problem..the three-bolt inlet ports.. I can make adaptors, but will not be surprised if someone has already made the right parts.. Fan ..looks wrong..any ideas? High flow will be needed.. Headers etc easy.. Flywheel from germany.. (Does anyone know the maker of these special flywheels to save a long search please?) What rev limit must I work to? Would better and longer rods with special pistons improve the rev-tolerance? Kind regards David |

David: I've contemplated going to MFI on my 3.8 engine rebuild. I have the adapters to make it work...I got them from Bruce Anderson. If you want dimensional diagrams to make your own, let me know. I can have a friend create a schematic for you. the big issue with an MFI conversion is getting someone to cut the space cams for you. I've talked to Gus at Pacific Fuel injection about it. He said its doable but may bery well end up being a trail and error process (read time and $$$). You'll need MFI throttle bodies bored BIG....at least 42mm. You are probably better off going to carbs if you want the early look.

David, the 001 or 005 pump is the best solution for big bore conversions, as you prbably already know. Does this mean you are now looking for a third pump?

Just get a hold of Henry Schmidt and let him know what your looking to do.
You will probably be more than pleased with the numbers he gives you, then give him the O.K. and within 60 days you will be STOKED...It really is that easy ![]() |

Henry just completed this motor for a friend of mine. This thing runs, like
no NA 3.2 I have ever experienced, hard to describe, and the sounds----WOW. Supertec 3.2SS, Twin Plug MFI with 52mm throttle bodies!!! ![]() Henry has it down with MFI and KNOWS what works. Eliminate the guesswork, call YODA. Last edited by Bryan Beaumont; 08-06-2006 at 12:11 PM.. |

adaptors
David I have some adaptors that go from 3 bolt 3.6 heads to 2 bolt pattern and they have the threaded hole for the MFI injector.
