Bremtek Flywheel
Does anyone have any experience with Bremtek flywheels (quality, balance, weight, durablitiy, etc.)? Using the search engine, I found a few posts about the Bremtek brakes and the general concensus is that they are a good quality aftermarket piece. I have found a NOS Bremtek flywheel and would like to know if one of their other products are

Shameless bump. I need to let the guy know if I want to buy the Bremtek flywheel from him soon (he won't hold it forever) or if I should send the extra bucks on an OEM flywheel.
The question is appropriate for this forum, but would I have more "foot traffic" for my question if it were posted on the 911 Technical Forum instead? Thanks again, Don |

I have one on my 914/6 (2.7) with an aluminum pressure plate and six-puck bronze clutch disk. After a recent hill-climb (30 hard starts) the clutch was fubar but absolutely no problems with the flywheel. From my experience, in terms of quality balance and durability, this is a good product.

I ran a Bremtek on an SC engine for years. No problems. Anyone want to buy it? I ran one on my 2.7 race motor, and had no problems for the short time I used it before it was damaged due to the standard 70.4mm flywheel retention problem. George the Bremtek guy was quite good at what he did. I have his brake calipers on my race car, and have never considered changing to something else.
Also, if you buy a used part you should consider having it balanced just so you know for sure it is right. Walt Fricke |

Thanks for the replies. Unfortunately, the Bremtek flywheel is sold. Fortunately, I found a good used OEM flywheel for little $$$. I am having it's surface checked and balanced this week (good advice, Walt) and I will still come out way under buying a new part.
Thanks again for the help, Don |
