3.2 Stroke
When porsche increased capacity from 3.0 to 3.2 why did they increase the stroke to do this rather than cylinder diameter? Was it simply so they could get away without twin plugging the 3.2's? or is there another advantage to the longer stroke of the 3.2 crank?

They already had the crank dimensions and they also had the rods. The rods are 3.3 turbo rods and the crank is the same stroke.
Cheers
