964 Piston ring gaps
Hi ,
Does anyone know what the Piston ring gaps readings should be for a MY92 964. I'm fitting some new ring and want to check the ring gaps before fitment. thanks Ian |

Those specs are correct.
Here's an interesting question. 0.15-0.3mm wear limit 0.8mm. How many engine builders would install a ring with .030" gap? . Yet that is the top limit Porsche says is usable.

Henry , is that a limit that is not documented, as it seems very tight to me ..if the spec i have found are correct for a 964.
PS: the full gasket I ordered off you a few months ago will be used very soon on the 964 rebuild.... thanks Ian |

Last set of "new" Goetz rings I bought were close to the wear limit. I ended up using the old ones as they were better than the new ones.
