weber rebuild - throttle shaft
I'm cleaning up the weber 46's I got the other weekend, came off a car that had been sitting a few years. They look new except for 1 barrel got a little water in it and froze up. I've got it unstuck and apart, but the throttle shaft got some rust on it (not on the area of the bearing surface). I've cleaned off the rust, and there is a little pitting, but otherwise the shaft is in good shape. I'd like to treat the shaft to get the original appearance back. Don't think paint is the right thing, looks like it was "blued". Can I just get a chemical kit from the gun store and re-blue the shaft?
