So I followed Wayne's book word for word, and got the big crank gear, spacer, and distributor gear on, and didn't realize there was a tiny bit of space under the larger gear, now I cant get the cir clip on the top.
Anyone have any suggestions on how to get the gears and spacer down enough or do I need to take them all off and start out fresh? I already tried heat with no avail Any suggestions at all will be greatly appreciated!!

i would pull them off and start again. keep a stout punch and a large hammer nearby to seat the gear if it cools down before you get it on all the way. using a press could possibly bend the crank.

Try not, Do or Do not

One thing to remember: There are 5 different thicknesses of snap ring. This means you seat the chain drive gear, spacer and distributor drive gear in place and choose the proper spacer for the gap you have. You want the gears held tightly in place, no clearance what so ever.
