I need advice on where to find new P&C's for my rebuild 2.2s is what I'd like forgive me if I put this in the wrong forum. How is that company in Sacramento that advertises on EBAY?

Excellent point. Point taken. I'm somewhat stressed about the 3000k+ price tag though. I'm trying to learn what all of my options are and most importantly are any of the non MAHLE options even worth considdering. Especially when you see that 2.2s are now NLA here on Pelican. If 2.2s pistons are that pricey I may as well start looking for a 3L.

If budget is an issue, why not buy a set of 85mm JE pistons and have your cylinders bored to match.
With this option you can determine your own specs including compression ratio and piston clearance.

I had no clue this was even an option. Please tell me more. As a t motor I was under the impression that I could'nt use the 2.4 t cyls due to the fact that they are not alum. The whole reason for going to 2.2 P&C's was the increase in compression/power... without splitting my case. Add to that a solex grind and I'm up on power. So what happens with bored cyls? Do I have them coated after boring. What would you guess the upgrade you suggest would produce on #feet? What is your cam suggestion? Is extra heat going to be a factor as a result of increased compression? I've already scavenged most of the parts to build a bumper mounted oil cooler. Would this be enough to abate the extra heat?--Guy

Boring cast iron cylinders is no problem. Is this the best option? No but certainly the cheapest first quality option.
The cylinders just get bored .040 (hone to fit the pistons). No plating is necessary. Any machine shop that does motor cycle machining can help you. The used cast iron cylinders are very stable so long life can be expected. Make certain when you order the pistons that the piston manufacturer understands that you are using cast cylinders. The aluminum cylinders will cool better but if you are not making 200 hp you won't notice the difference. A fender mounted front cooler will suffice. I like the Solex cams if your want good power under 6200, they are very drivable. Solex cams are what I run in my 2.7 914/6. I can't quote power output but it will be noticeable.
