Why not piston installation before headstuds?
I'm wondering: why can't you install pistons before you put headstuds in? It seems like every photo I've ever seen shows studs before pistons. I'm aware you'd need to be careful and not bang the skirts into the case as you make the revolution when installing the pistons, but it seems like not having to work around the studs would make the circlips easier to install?
Why wouldn't this logic work?

Well, let me think this through. You have to put loctite on the stud tip and insert it into the threads, then tighten it down and measure the distance from the case. I don't think having the piston on would hurt, but you'd have to find some way to keep it from flopping into the case or banging the skirt on something. At least when you have the studs in you can suspend the rod with a rubber band so it's more or less in the center of the spigot when you go to put the pin in.
Here's one for you, are you going to use a tapered ring compressor and put the piston in the cylinder on the bench BEFORE you insert the pin, or going to use a HAZET and put the piston on the rod, then compress the rings and slide the cylinder over the piston?

When Supertec head studs are used there is no need for stud installation measurements.
Top qualty, easy of installation and available from our host. What could be better?

Well, I put my money where my mouth is....was going with ARP's, but came to my senses and went with Henry's set. When you run the numbers, this isn't crazy money at all when you price out a complete set of new steel, nuts and washers.
