By George, I think I've got it....

I did the 9V battery on my dead injectors today and a little bit of tapping on them. Got good clicking, so I hooked them back up and she fired right up. A bit rough below 1K RPM, butv smooth above. It was friggin' cold today here, so I'm guessing that played into it. But, I think I have 6 cylinders running.

Still no oil leaks, so I think I'm out of the woods on that worry!

I've got to put the muffler back on, and hook up the O2, then she's hitting the road for a short drive tomorrow!

Thanks guys!! I still may have a sticky injector in #5, but it seems to be intermittent. Maybe with a drive, they'll all loosen up a bit. That could be why it was rough under 1K, but it's only 39 degrees here today on a brand new engine, so I guess I can't expect it to purr?
I think the girl needs to see 5K tomorrow!

I crawled around underneath, and I may have a drip from the LH top valve cover, I'll check the nuts on all of them once last time.

But, it runs, no CLANGING that I can hear over straight headers, and I'm pretty pumped!!1

No kidding! I kept expecting the worst to happen, I was such a worry-wart on the whole thing. I'm still cautious about it, but the confidence is gaining.

I got my shifter linkage hooked up and my muffler on today. But, it is raining....s'posed to rain tomorrow too.

Thursday should be clear, so she may have to wait until then. But, she's ready to rumble.

Man, I can't wait. I've followed all your threads.

Sorry about the rain. It's 5F bleepin degrees where I'm at, but it should get to 50F by April.

Good Luck

The weather should clear in a few days. It is nice and sixty-ish degrees down here in Hell Rio.

Did you get the injectors rebuilt?

It is killing me...MPSC's and wet streets don't mix.

I did have them cleaned and tested back in July. But, sitting idle does them no good...

Don't be a baby. Although I did I run those tires in the rain at DE's and they were spectacular compared to my street tires. So i'm only partially kidding.

And by the way Ed, congrats on getting the engine fired up and ready for break-in.

What's your plan for twin plugs?

Cups

The fact that it's in the 30's here today also figures into it.

Did you pull the injectors to check them? When I had problems I removed them, filled my old pressure brake bleeder up with fuel, hooked it up to the injector and touched it off with a 6v battery. Now I know this is living dangerously but it did work, and makes a heck of a flame thrower.
