Timing Help
I am completely lost on this one... I read the book, I went through the archives and I searched the web. Lo and behold I am at a complete loss for how to do this.
I have the longblock put back together. I never took the left side of the motor apart since I was only supposed to be replacing a broken headstud on #5. Amazing how many little while you are in there things you can still do!!! Anyway, I am trying to find TDC... there is no "Z1" mark on my pulley. I have two pulleys since it has A/C. Is the A/C pulley covering it? Is there an easy way to find TDC? Also, I figured I could just look at the left side camshaft so I pulled the cover. I can not find a marking in there that would indicate TDC. Here is a pic... am I missing something? Is there a video I can watch to see someone set the timing? This can't be that hard... what am I missing??? Happy Fourth... and please help ![]() ![]()
