Oil temperature sending unit adapter

I am installing an oil temperature gauge in my race car. The six cylinder Porsche engine used a 13M X 1.5 thread in the case for the standard VDO sender. The Autometer gauge uses a 1/8 pipe thread for it's sensor. Does anyone make an adapter to go from 13M to 1/8 pipe? Anyone else solved this problem?

Thanks,
neilca

Thanks guys,

I decided to try and gut the VDO sending unit and tap for the 1/8 pipe. Worked like a champ.

I have mounted a GM style 1/8 pipe sensor in both the 1/2/3 side chain box cover and the breather housing. Both location yield a temp reading similar to the reading on the factory dash VDO gauge on my 3.4.

Cheers
