How to remove the Injector Sleeve from a '73.5 CIS Head??
Is there a way to remove the CIS injector sleeve from a 1973.5 CIS head without destroying the sleeve?

You mean from the intake runner, right? If the runner is off the engine do your best to file down the detents made at the factory. Then it may simply slip out with a little tap on the end. Other wise, you can use a long threaded rod or bolt with a fender washer at the top and one at the bottom with a nut. The sleeves should be below the surface of the intake runner and once you get them started over the factory detents they come right out. You can tap lightly as well. I used a plastic hammer. Be gentle though... those old ones are really brittle. Might even consider some lube if you have a stubborn one.
If the runner is still on the engine and this is a guess as my runners were off already... you have to get a tool through the hole to grab on the bottom edge. Then I would think some gentle tapping on the tool, like a slide hammer, would unseat it. I'm not sure I would try to file the detents down as your shavings would end up in the intake at some point. These things are cheap so I just tossed mine for new ones, but I only broke one on removal. Best regards, Michael

euro911sc, the 73 1/2 head is unique in that the injector is actually in the head not the intake runner.
Tom We have tried numerous techniques to remove the injector stand and to this date we have not succeeded without destroying it (the injector stand). For this exact reason we generally just chuck those heads in the waist bin.

I would think that CIS heads could be salvaged by drilling out the sleeve and then tapping and plugging the injector hole for carb application or by leaving the sleeve in and reusing for CIS after rebuild.
