they were Green that was mounted there, did i get the wrong part?

I believe the (superior) green viton O'ring supercedes the black O'ring atleast in the case of a 964. It would appear your engine was rebuilt in the past as the original black ones from the factory were replaced with green viton.

You need to buy a premium gasket kit that contains all Viton O-rings & seals instead of the normal silicone or neoprene.

i am doing a top end (valves and rings) on my 3.0 and have been looking for a gasket set that contains all the gaskets, washers that i need, but they dont say what is in them or if they are viton. i have even seen the same pic for upper gasket set and lower gasket set, but not what they contain. i think i am going to call the place i got a lot of my parts for my 914-6 conversion, i tell him what i am doing and have and he sets me up. i have these 2 peice oil tubes, they look like weltmeister, not sure if they had all the parts on them or where to get the thin replacement rings or if i should just get the one peice tubes. i think there is a cir clip missing. it had 3 of the thin O rings. sorry, i feel like i have hi jacked
i had to replace the fuel lien from the pump to the engine. i call this company and they send me the part, it does not fit. i call my other guy and he says straight up, there is an update for your car, you need blah blah blah to make it work.
its like going to lowes, i would like to get everything in one trip, but it never happens. sorry to ramble

Steve is correct: Viton is best. Keep in mind that color is not the determining factor. Viton comes in many colors. I have seen green, black and brown.
The best way to guarantee you get Viton is to order a Wrightwood Racing gasket set w/Viton.

Nossir. You need to order those through a Wrightwood Racing dealer.
