AA Performance P&C

I am trying to buy a replacement long block for my 72 911. The engine I am interested in has AA Perf. P&C. I have tried to research the reliability, and get complete opposite opinions. There is a thread on the 356 Reg. right now saying they are prone to problems. A guy in Italy was asking about the 911's and was told they were not good for hard driving. Clearances to close, run hot. Please any advise will be appreciated. I need an engine!

There are only two P&C manufacters that you need to concern yourself with... one is LN Engineering and the other is JB Racing. Both offer a very good product and excellent support. I would not look at any others.. you get what you pay for!!

Sorry, I did not see the part where you are not rebulding your motor, but you are looking at a long block with said Cylinders... sorry, I cant help you there...

We have recently been approached by AA to review their Biral 84mm 911 Porsche pistons and cylinders and we find them to be a very nice alternative to the Mahle and other higher priced options.
We have great things to say about Perfect Bore and LN Nickies given a budget that is appropriate.
We would also suggest boring a set of cylinders to .040 and running a set of custom JEs. That option will cost more than the AA biral set but the AA pistons are cast and will not support high out put engines.
I believe you can also special order AA cylinders with JE pistons at a higher price.
The smaller QSC cylinders offer some challenges so be careful when ordering them.
Our experience with the 86 mm 911 cylinder is that they were designed incorrectly and are useless. Of course they may have redesigned that product so until I see a newer model I have to suggest that you stay away.
