MBruns - thanks for the info. The advance is checked with a DVOM, a timing light won't work correctly (according to the EM literature - "A timing light with built-in advance measurements may
only be used to verify "0" (no advance) due to the double pulse of the Electromotive ignition."). Is there a special technique to checking each individual coil (I have 6). I have two sets of coils and terminals for a DVOM on each set. We set both and the HPV-1 worked flawlessly across the range and stayed consistent, but is there the possibility it will fire one coil incorrectly?. I agree the final setting for max power should be done on the dyno, but that will be after I know the Webers are sync'd and I know everything it correct.

Gary, I have never liked the idea of testing with a multi meter, All I have ever used is an inductive timing light, granted some of the digital lights will indicate twice the timing value due to the wasted spark of the EM, just divide it in half, but a standard light shot at the pulley will tell you exactly what the "real" event is at the plug. to shoot the other coil packs since both leads fire the same clip the inductive lead on a wire from the light on each one of the 3 coils on both boards and you can see the event timing on the pulley, ( you can mark the pulley at each one of the 120 marks and give each one a 30 deg mark to verify. the gold boards were the most reliable of the bunch, the HPX were absolute junk. we ran the gold boards for years and the only issue's we ever had were pick up sensors.
