Sweet wheels, they look great. Where did you find wing nuts for the carb Rain Covers?

My next project.. sub..

The wing nuts came with the carbs when I bought them. I'm not sure where they came from beyond that but they are nice to have, ny-locks with wings. If I can find the source I'll post.

I'm up in Montgomery on Lake Conroe. If you need any help I'm happy to lend an ear. My car is still in the "process" waiting on interior parts and RSR carpet kit but it's getting close. My son and I took it out last night with the top off and the windows down and drove around the neighborhood for a while. On the way home we were able to open it up a bit; OMG this thing rips. I'm still trying to get a date that works with the dyno shop and my schedule. It will happen soon.

Loaded my car and trailered it down to Protechnik: locked up and no answer on the phone. Looks like William Knight is moving to Houston and will have a chassis dyno. As soon as he is up and running we will make a pull or two.
I can report that the motor runs well. It really likes 3500 plus all the way out to 7000 without any arguments. There is a slight transition hick-up at about 2500 but it's easy to live with. I'm messing around with jetting and timing with the help of a few folks, thanks William. I had the oportunity to run with a Nissan 350 Z about a week ago and we did an impromptu roll on from a stop light; no dropping the clutch or anything just ease away from the light and then get it on. When I grabbed second gear it was all history. We ran up to redline in third and shut it down. I had him by ten lengths. I also had him by about 1000 pounds! Lindy |
great build

Lindy,
any updates? |
Yes and no... I'm waiting on KNIGHTRACE to get their shop open here in the Houston area. He will probably have the dyno from Sams old shop. When it's up and running I'm going to be a Ginny pig of sorts to dial it in.
Unfortunately, my nose bearing has developed a leak at the o-ring. I have it fixed temporarily but the motor is coming out this winter after the new year for a proper repair. At that time I'm sending the crank to Henry for a cross-drill along with bearing cuts. My motor really likes 4500 to 7000+ so I'm going to get a little insurance at those higher revs. I'll keep you all posted. Lindy |
Ill need to get my EFI dialed in so Ill need knightrace as well... Let us know when they are open and your experience.
