The little K&Ns are easy to come by, but does not one want a nice trumpet top? As most of your pictures show? Smooths out the flow into the tube? As would be the case with those flanged ones, with a filter base plate through the flange?

Once again theory gets in the way of practice.
The "little" K&Ns have a built in taper to transition the air smoothly.
One shop that purchased a set of the individual filter/stack systems chose to replace the small filters with one twice the diameter.
It took only a few minutes for me to explain to them that the CFM of the small filters was 3x the theoretical max flow of the 3.5 liter engine they were running on.
These same "little" filters flow enough for a 305 ci sprint car engine.

Got any pics of the taper inside those K&N'S? Or a part number? I am stumped as to what would be the best to use with the Jenvey throttles on my motor.
Had the Piper ones and have tried some tea strainer type ones from Pegasus, but always looking for something better.

Have you tried the Hargett throttles in the picture you posted?

Here you go Jeff.

Please note that I chose to destroy a perfectly good K&N air filter just to be of assistance. But that's me, I'm a giver
