Nylocs are DIN 985 generally speaking

Why not order directly from our host rather than your local Wuerth dealer?

thor,

If you look at the Porsche parts catalog PET, you will find the DIN specification for many pieces of hardware.

Part numbers beginning 900.xxx.xxx.xx are usually standard DIN/ISO hardware. Depending on the year, Porsche lists both the DIN number and a size description. For example: 900.123.011.30 is the drain plug aluminum sealing ring described as “Dirchring/Joint ring, A 22 x 27 DIN 7603-Al”

It will take some serious investigation to get the absolutely correct (year, model, application, etc.) hardware. For example, John’s (Pelican 304065) DIN 985 can be “900.084.014.02, Sechskantmutter/Hex nut, M8 DIN 985-6S, vers.” for a 1970 engine and different on other models/years but still be an 8 mm “Nylock” hex nut. The restoration guys go nuts over this.

Part numbers beginning 999.xxx.xxx.xx are usually standard automotive / industrial parts (lip seals, O-rings, hose, etc.)

Somewhere there is a DIN-to-ISO conversion list.

Hardware with Porsche part numbers beginning with a Porsche type number (930.xxx.xxx.xx, etc.) are not usually available as DIN/ISO hardware. They are Porsche-only custom hardware, usually only available through parts systems.

A good way to organize your project is to copy the exploded diagrams for your model and make your own (abbreviated) parts manual.

You may find that automotive / industrial hardware suppliers put so much premium price on small quantities that you must buy ‘package quantities’ (like 100 or 1000 units, 1 or 10 Kg or 100 m). It may turn out to be less expense to buy several Pelican kits. Certainly less hassle.

Best,
Grady
