Experience with LN 103mm Slip Fit P/C Kit?
I am looking to increase the displacement of my 1995 3.6L 1995 motor to 3.8L(street car only). I have increased the intake valves to RS spec so I will probably need deeper pockets on the pistons. The easy answer would be to buy the Mahle kit but their kit is only 102 mm so you do not get true 3.8L. Also, everything I have read on Rennlist and Pelican says the Mahle pistons are heavy and do not give true 11.5 compression ratio. Charles Navarro says alot of the old bad press with the JE Pistons is no longer an issue. He says he has many sets out there running on the streets with more than 50,000 miles. Plus, with the Nickies I can get true 3.8L, true 11.5 compression, lighter pistons, etc.

Nickies are designed to work with JEs.

120 HP/Liter is all I ask

Curious, did 103 mm 3.8 conversion ever happen? How did it go?

I'm curious too.
I have a set of 102mm Mahles Cylinders that are in need of new matching pistons and I was thinking of just selling them and getting the 103mm slip in with JE's This would be a track only engine mike

I had 103mm slip fit cylinders with J&E pistons on an engine for 2 race seasons, no problems with them whatsoever. Great products from L&N

I haven't installed 103 but have used LN Nickies for years with no complaints.
A few years ago we built a 4.0 (105 x 76.4) titanium engine for a customers sand rail and after 200 hours we freshened it up. With a bore that size and the propensity for sand to penetrate the intake system we would have expected considerable wear and ovality distortion. The cylinders showed every little distortion and no wear. These cylinders are very nice and I highly recommend them.

Hey Yoda- Whadaya think of 130 mm Ti rods 0n GT3 crank with J&E/LN 103 mm kit (with 22 mm wrist pins moved up 3 mm in piston to fit the Ti rods in there) along with a DC cam RS grind on a 114 mm lobe center in 1995 OBD 1 993 engine? All else stock. Could it pass CA smog???

All things being equal as far as cat and computer are concerned, I would think it should pass smog. That said, it's a chance I think I would take.

I like this build on paper so I think I would roll the dice and see what happens.
