911 9146 engine fan housings, Possible Mismatch??

My six conversion is using an original 9146 case. I am using a 911 fan housing and 55amp Bosch Alternator. I have assembled and I'm not sure if I have a problem. See pics. Belt doesnt seem to align properly. I have 5 shims under and 1 shim on the outside. I'm wondering if the housing that I'm using may be a problem as it is from a later model car. Housing number is 930106102OR and you can see it on the second pic.

Thats probably the problem as the 930 housing takes the small alternator too far back giving you a mis alignment.
I have a fan housing and as you can see the back ledge that the alternator sits on is probably 3 times the thickness of the one youre using, if it were out of the car to compare.
This is a 901 part, proper for a 914/6
If you want to trade, feel free, this is shelf item for quite a time, I can bead blast it for the swap.

Housings and alternator

How much would you sell the housing for outright after blasting it?

Housings and alternator

Can I ask you to mearsure the distance from the alternator mating surface to the top of the housing lip just above that surface in the first pic you posted.? It looks a bit deep. Thanks,

I have 2 901's with the exact same part numbers, the mounting lip on one is deep like that one and the other is very shallow. I think the bcheney would have the same issue he already has with your "deep" housing.

95.8mm to the outer front surface from the ledge. The base of the ledge is 19mm thick.

I'll trade the deep 930 housing for a 901 shallow one?
Excellent condition, glassbeeded. AND I'll pay shipping.
