Fire extinguisher. Then make sure you crank the engine with the ignition disabled till the qauge shows oil pressure. Make sure you added the correct amount of oil. Check for leaks in the fuel and oil system. Good to have someone else there to watch while you crank the engine over for the first start.
Best of luck.

It did'nt start unfortunately - however did not catch fire either :-).
After some flooding of the carbs the starter is having a tough time. I suspect bad connections due to the old wiring ... this I will go through tonight. The batteries are both brand new so I guess the load ability is OK - however I will test. Turning did produce sparks so Im still optimistic... Does anyone know where to download schematics about default/factory settings for Webers? Thanks |

Make sure the ground strap from the body to the transmission has clean solid connections.
You might get better results on the carb settings in the technical forum.
